The Nexus is a ballistic parachute launcher. It is is a welded tube, made out of a material called Dyneema, that houses an inverted parachute. When the drone experiences a failure, the Nexus deploys in under 30 milliseconds and not only throws the parachute at 90 mph, but moves the attachment point of the parachute away from the control surfaces of the drone.
